The Book On Ohio's 2nd? Dropout Leaves Schmidt Virtually Unopposed

(H/T, Chillicothe Gazette.)

Tood Book, at one point, presented a credible opponent to "Mean" Jean Schimdt and a chance to reduce the crazy quotient of the Ohio Congressional delegation by a factor of ten by knocking off arguably the craziest Republican in Congress not named Bachmann.

Today, Book quietly exited the race, leaving only nominal Democrat David Kirkorian to oppose Schmidt in 2010. You remember Kirkorian...he's the guy who got enough votes as an Independent to re-elect Schmidt in her rematch against Vic Wulsin in 2008. The Gazette cites Book's legislative duties and his recent loss of a key union endorsement over work his law firm is doing as the main reasons he's decided to close the shop.

C'est la guerre, I suppose.

Dr. Wulsin...how 'bout another go? Since you last ran against Mean Jean, she's outed herself as a "Birther," after all...how hard could it be?

Sen. DeWine, your campaign for AG is stumbling right now...how 'bout avoiding embarrassing yourself against a yokel prosecutor and a five-time Jeopardy champ and reinstituting something approaching moderation in your crazy party?

When you make John Boehner look reasonable by comparison, something's got to give.
