Breaking News. Chief Justice Moyer Agrees With Judge O'Neill
This morning's Plain Dealer is reporting that Chief Justice Thomas Moyer of the Ohio Supreme Court believes that the recent ruling by the United States Supreme Court "...further highlights the public perception that judges can be bought." http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2009/06/ohio_justices_may_rethink_recu.h... Isn't that precisely the topic that the Supreme Court entertained...and dismissed...charges against me in 2006 when I said that "Money And Judges Don't Mix"????????
But there is a bigger issue in play here. The US Supreme Court ruled that a West Virginia Justice SHOULD HAVE STEPPED DOWN when one of his biggest contributors' cases came before the Court. Heck...that happens EVERY DAY IN OHIO.
And now we are left to ponder. Two seats on the Ohio Supreme Court will be open next year...including Chief Justice. Will they be for sale to the highesst bidder...again? I hope not.
Bill O'Neill
