CNN camerawoman who was racially harassed at Republican Convention comes forward

Patricia Carroll, a camerwoman from CNN who had peanuts thrown at her from Republican delegates at their convention with words of "this is how we feed animals" has come foward.

According to the Huffington Post she stated:

"the incident was disheartening, and that it should serve as a wake-up call to black people."

Sadly she also said:

"I hate that it happened, but I'm not surprised at all,"

She was not surprised at all that the incident happened.

We still have miles to go in terms of race relations and that is sad. It's hard to look at today's Republican Party and not see them as main drivers in widening the gap. From their immigration laws, to voter id laws, to their fixation with food stamps, the Republican Party preaches the hate and that is what we get in return. Is that really the kind of country you want to live in?

Amen

With this type of thinking still rampant, the last thing were need is politicians exploiting it for their personal advancement. Do you think if something like this had happened at a Democratic gathering, Republicans would be demanding that every single Democrat out there specifically denounce this behavior and distance themselves from it? Have any top-level Republicans condemned it yet?
