Confirmation: Rush Limbaugh Is Still On Hillbilly Heroin

I listened to the first 30 minutes of the Rush Limbaugh show this afternoon, something I generally don't do, but of course today was different.

Did you know that Sarah Palin has more experience than Barack Obama?

Palin has been Governor of Alaska for 20 months now (and was endorsed by Ted Stevens during that race -- oops) and Barack Obama has been a US Senator from Illinois for 44 months.

Before she was Governor, she served as Mayor of ... Wasilla, Alaska. Yes, Wasilla. I did some research on the US Census website and as of July of 2007, Wasilla had a population of 9,780 and that actually made it the fourth largest city/town in Alaska.

In Ohio, with that population it would place between Girard and London and hold the position of #174 in Ohio city population.

Now, I remember that when Tim Kaine was under serious consideration as a VP for Obama, we had this pronouncement from Karl Rove:

One questioner asked Obama to address Republican Karl Rove's recent remarks diminishing Richmond. Rove recently told CBS' "Face the Nation" that during Kaine's stint as Richmond's mayor, he "was mayor of the 105th largest city in America. ... It's not a big town."

That was 105th largest city in the ENTIRE United States, not in Virginia. Don't forget that Kaine has been Governor of Virgnina a WHOLE YEAR LONGER than Sarah Palin has been Governor of Alaska.

Oops, yet again.

What does Rove say now?

Update:

As another comparision, Illinois has 59 state senators and the districts are drawn to be roughly equal in population. As of 2007, according to Wikipedia, the population of Illinois was 12,852,548 so that means on average each state senate district had 225,483 people.

That's 23 TIMES the population of Wasilla, Alaska.

Oops again!

Total population of Alaska:

Source: Wikipedia
Population Ranked 47th in the US
- Total 683,478 (2007 est.) [1]
- Density 1.2/sq mi
0.46/km² (Ranked 50th in the US)
- Median income US$54,627 (6th)

That's roughly 3 Illinois state senate districts.

[edit: Chicago]
Population (2006)
- City 2,833,321(US: 3rd)
- Density 12,470/sq mi (4,816/km²)
- Urban 8,711,000
- Metro 9,785,747
- Demonym Chicagoan

The city of Chicago alone has 4 times the population of Palin's entire state.

lies & hypocrisy (fairly unbalanced)

The Illinois State Senate

The Illinois State Senate districts aren't drawn based on the population of the state. The city of Chicago has 19 districts, and a population of 2.8 million.

Also, Obama isn't running against Palin. Sad to think the top of the Democratic ticket is much closer in experience to the VP nominee for the Republican ticket. Does that concern you at all? It does me.

I live in Illinois.

Population Size, and Presidential choices

First:

"The Republicans have been ripping on Obama for being a lowly State Senator, but his state congressional district (pop. 653,647) is virtually equal in population to that of the entire State of Alaska (pop. 670,053)."

Second:

Yes, Obama is Running against McCain and Obama made a VeePee Pick that could step in and be president if needed. McCain made a political pick to get the republican base excited, not someone ready to be president. They won't even let her address the media. What does that say about McCain and putting country first? What do each of their VeePee choices say about their decision making abilities if they were to be president?
