Dann to Make Announcement in One Hour UPDATED
Marc Dann has scheduled a news conference at noon. It could be a bravura show of defiance, but I'm 99% certain he'll step down.
UPDATE: Dave at BSB says that the presser will be broadcast on ONN and live-streamed on ONNTV.com.
2nd UPDATE: The PD says that Dann has been meeting with Lee Fisher this morning. Putting two and two together here -- Dann to resign, Fisher to be identified at the same time as Dann's replacement.
3rd UPDATE (12:13 p.m.): ONNtv.com says that the media is camped out around Dann's office while Dann continues to talk to state officials.
4th UPDATE (12:35 p.m.): No presser yet. Meanwhile, state troopers have have descended on Dann's office and are checking IDs and searching purses, apparently to preserve evidence for the Inspector General's investigation.
5th UPDATE (1:10 p.m.): Latest rumor is that Marc Dann has been arrested and marched out of the building by state troopers. The source is suspect, anyone out there know anything for certain on this?
6th UPDATE (1:40 p.m.): The Daily Briefing now reports that Dann's spokesman denies announcing any press conference, and that investigators sent by Inspector General Thomas Charles arrived at Dann's office at 11:00 a.m. this morning and seized a dozen computers, including Dann's.
7th UPDATE (3:03 p.m.): Dann returned to his computer-less office from lunch, so the rumor of his arrest was premature basesless, but The Daily Briefing is reporting that Gov. Strickland has canceled an out-of-town trip that had been scheduled for today ... so there could be something big going on behind the scenes.

Unlikely
I think it's unlikely that Fisher will take over.
Then they'll have to announce a replacement for Lee, etc.
True, but ...
They'd have to announce a replacement for Cordray as well. (The idea of appointing an interim AG and Cordray running for AG in the special while remaining Treasurer is a non-starter because it smacks of political gamesmanship.) The thing with Fisher is he has been AG before, he has no dirt on him, and he wants to run for Governor after Strickland. You'd think he'd want to stay on as Lt. Governor so he could step up if Ted becomes VP, but Ted just spent the day yesterday insisting that it isn't going to happen, so perhaps that isn't a factor.
