Delegate Experiences
My experiences from the convention is not what you see on TV. It's like a media rich endurance contest, my day starts at 7:30 and often goes till 2 AM filled with non-stop meetings, lunches, dinners and fun.
I can finally say affirmatively i have had a beer with a U.S. Congressman where we discussed the Robin Weirauch Campaign and strategies the DNCC could have done differently.
Though the difference from this and many other political experiences I have had is the fact that I don't feel like an outsider - I am elected and I do feel like I belong and have an important roll to play.
It was a funny feeling last night where there was a sudden frenzy in our delegation. When I asked what the commotion was about and I was told behind us in the Georgia delegation (which was just up the stairway) President Carter was being seated. I turned around and saw that in fact, President Carter was behind us. wow. that was cool.
With respect to news, we will not be voting from the floor. We will be voting with our delegation at breakfast tomorrow morning. I have been instructed that Hillary Clinton's delegates are released and we are free to vote for whom we choose.
I'm posting a few photos: The AFT Delegation from Ohio (With Senator Fedor and the OFA president Sue Taylor), Ohio Delegation near Katie Couric, Howard Dean, Governor Strickland,
