DEVELOPING : Fmr. State Senator Dan Brady to Seek House Seat

Former State Senator Dan Brady announced today that he is entering the race for Ohio House in the 13th District to replace term-limited Mike Skindell. Brady already has one primary opponent, as Lakewood Councilman Tom Bullock announced his candidacy to friends and supporters just about a month ago.

Others have also been rumored as potential candidates including Lakewood Councilwoman Nickie Antonio.

From the Brady release :

Former State Senator Dan Brady announced on April 30th that he will be a candidate for Ohio House District 13 in next May’s Democratic Primary. House District 13, currently represented by Rep. Mike Skindell who must vacate the seat due to term limits, includes the city of Lakewood and parts of the west side of Cleveland.

Dan Brady served in the Ohio House and Ohio Senate as a member of the minority from 1996 to 2006 where he established a strong record in the areas of health care reform, environmental protection, civil rights, and economic justice issues.

Dan Brady looks forward to the opportunity to return to the Ohio General Assembly and believes that his extensive legislative experience will be an asset to the citizens of the 13th District and the Democratic majority.

Ho-hum, more of this

"I"m term-limited in the Senate so I guess I'll run for the House." Yup, those term limits sure made such a difference, didn't they? Isn't it about time that we admitted that term limits don't fix anything, and legislators of both parties have been jumping through these hoops for years to get around them? Term limits are another case of a "solution" that has no relation to the problem.

Ugh. I really hope Nicki

Ugh.

I really hope Nicki Antonio wins. The last thing we need is a revolving door of hairdo's like Dan Brady who just want their PERS clock to keep ticking.
