END OF DAYS ALERT : Jean Schmidt Lectures Krikorian on Professional Conduct

You know, just when I think I can escape from the blog for a few weeks and try to help some friends get through their primaries, David "Ring the Bell" Krikorian allegedly does something so outrageous that even controversial Ohio Republican Congresswoman Jean Schmidt calls him out on it. So, here I am. Back at the blog with 5 days or so until the primary.

As you may have read at BSB or PB today, Democratic leaders from both the county and state level have publicly blasted Krikorian for making insensitive comments which "appear racist."

This week, in a letter making its way around the beltway and state this evening, Schmidt calls out Second Congressional District candidate David Krikorian denouncing his alleged behavior at the meeting of a veterans group in Clermont County where, according to attendees of the meeting, Krikorian referred to Democrat Surya Yalamanchili "...repeatedly by dramatically and phonetically pronouncing his name."

Schmidt goes on to state that residents of Ohio's Second Congressional District are not racists and that she is "shocked by [Krikorian's] behavior."

Jean Schmidt,
Who says on video that she doesn't believe Barack Obama was born in the United States,
Tells David Krikorian,
That she is shocked by his behavior.

Ring the bell, indeed.

Give Schmidt some credit, as she saves the best for last:

"Please conduct yourself in a manner fitting a candidate or the office you seek...I know you are new to the Democratic Party but I would venture to guess that such behavior will be particularly offensive."

When the woman who wears an American flag as a dress and shouts down war heroes for kicks, tells someone they've crossed the line, every living creature on the planet should pay attention. Because either something terrible just happened, or something is about to.

Pray OH-02. Pray.

Krikorian and his supporters

have lost their minds. One posted an incoherent diary on DailyKos Monday that, among other things, bitched about Surya Yalamanchili having lots of donors with Indian names — apparently forgetting that Krikorian himself has been the beneficiary of fundraisers as far away as California in the Armenia community. But would it be fair to attack him if a large percentage of his donations came from Armenian-Americans? No, it wouldn't, and he'd scream bloody murder — rightfully so.

The more I hear of Krikorian, he strikes me as someone who will try to be all things to all people. He's proudly called himself a conservative Democrat in the past; now his followers are trying to claim he's really a good progressive, when his own words make a lie of that.

Please tell me how people

Please tell me how people like Krikorian get on the Democratic ticket? Whose underestimating the intelligence of people in this district? I hope Yalamanchlli makes the primary an upset for Democrats. Turning in Schmidt for Krikorian would be just a different kind of crazy. By the way, I am amazed how Jean has allowed what's her face in Minnesota to steal the honors.
