Kasich to African-American Leaders : "I Don't Need Your People"
Governor John Kasich's first few weeks have been shocking in their reckless honesty. Governor Kasich doesn't split words and doesn't hold back. He's proud of his style. He tells you how he really feels.
That's what's so sad about this.
ONN's Jim Heath reports on a shocking exchange between Senator Nina Turner (who is a member of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus) and the Governor. When Turner questions the Governor (and the Governor's staff confirms this), Kasich shot back "I don't need your people!"
Folks, he's been on the job for just three weeks! There's supposed to be a honeymoon period where the new governor brings the state together. Unfortunately for him, the Governor's behavior has further softened his crumbling support.

My issue with this is his arrogance
in saying that HE doesn't need "your people." We do not elect public officials to take care of THEIR needs, but to see to OURS. Maybe Emperor Kasich needs to start thinking about what the people of Ohio need and stop treating the state like a plaything he can wreck if he's in a bad mood. If Kasich doesn't see ALL the people of Ohio as HIS people, he's simply unfit to be governor. Which I feel he is. I think he's by far the worst officeholder I have ever seen in this state. Don't talk to me about Jimmy Dimora and Frank Russo. They're small-timers compared to Kasich.
Interesting spin from the Plain Dealer
While Nina Turner herself says on the video that Kasich told her "I don't need your people," the PD is claiming that she said he said, "I won't hire your people," which has a completely different meaning. It's still not a GOOD meaning, but it's way less arrogant than what she is on tape saying he said to her. I wonder if this was the PD's attempt to soften his belligerence. If so, they did it by misquoting Turner and in a sense discrediting her.
