A Million Miles Away From Home

News of a Garfield Heights Marine coming home the wrong way made me watch this again. Some of you have seen it, most have not. It's worth seeing it again because war continues.

According to iCasualties, as of August 26, 166 Americans have been killed in Afghanistan and 106 in Iraq since January 20, 2009.  This is not the kind of change I voted for.

(Editor's Note : Paul Schroeder's son, Lance Cpl Edward "Augie" Schroeder II was killed in Haditha, Iraq in August 2005. This video is a tribute to his life.

No, it's not

And it just tears me up to see the lists of dead military in our church bulletin event week, listing the names of the people who died in the last week that we are praying for. The list really shrunk for a while; I think there were weeks with no names. But now they've exploded again. The craziness needs to stop. That video reminds us why — and reminds us of the multipled impact on families and friends. What a tragedy.
