OH-05: Poll Shows Latta (R) WIth Large Lead Over Buehrer (R)

A Public Opinions Strategy poll conducted for the campaign of State Rep. Bob Latta (R-Bowling Green) shows him with a commanding 19 point lead over State Sen. Steve Buehrer (R-Delta), despite endorsement of the latter by a variety of ultra-conservative advocacy groups:

The poll also shows that Latta is considerably better known and regarded more favorably:

The poll was conducted October 16th-17th on a district-wide sample of 300 likely Republican primary voters. It has a margin of error of +/- 5.66% in 95 out of 100 cases.
Latta's lead is not larger than the 31% pool of undecided voters so it cannot be regarded as a lead-pipe cinch. However, with only two and a half weeks to go before the primary, it is a very strong lead.
Meanwhile, the Buehrer campaign has announced that it will hold a press conference today to discuss "recent attacks" by Latta:
State Senator Steve Buehrer, Republican candidate for Congress in Ohio’s 5th District, will hold a press conference on Friday, Oct. 19th at 10AM in Perrysburg, Ohio in front of the Perrysburg City Hall (330 Walnut Street, Perrysburg, OH). Buehrer will be joined by Chris Long of the Ohio Christian Alliance, former State Representative Twyla Roman, and others to discuss recent attacks by Bob Latta and his campaign.

There was never any doubt in my mind as to who would win the GOP nomination.
All of this CTG garbage is having no impact on the general electorate around here.
There is ZERO excitement about this race.
Are the people in this District "conservative"? Yes, in a main street chamber of commerce country club sort of way. Around here folks tend to be social conservatives but "kitchen table" liberals (on economic issues)
Are they flaming ideologues? HECK NO. And believe me, they don't give a rat's butt about what Buehrer and Latta are bloviating about.
Which is good, because it will drive turnout down like a rock. I have been worried that with all of the action on the GOPer side, there would be really high Republican turnout on November 6, which would swamp our candidates in the small town council races which are ostensibly "non-partisan."
Ain't gonna happen.
Higher taxes are what your going to get from Latta
Face facts. STEVE BUEHRER opposed raising taxes while Latta favors taxes. A vote for Latta will take more money out of your pocket. Trashing Club for Growth is a waste of time.
Don't be fooled by the Latta
Don't be fooled by the Latta attacks. Steve Buehrer is the true Conservative Republican. Steve is about liberty. He's about country. He is about faith. He is about loyalty to our troops on the battlefield. He is about winning the War in Iraq. He is about sending whatever reinforcements and resources our soldiers need to defeat the terrorists or our enemies anywhere they appear on the battlefield. He is about limited government and individual liberty, free, genuinely free, political speech. The freedom to exercise your religion, your private property rights, the right to keep most of what you earn. This is who he is. This is what he believes. These are things that Harry Reid, Tom Harkin, Nancy Pelosi, and the rest of the Democrats work day and night to diminish. The left is about seizing and keeping power. They are about undermining the traditions and institutions that have made the country great. That would include the Constitution, which they dismiss as a living and breathing document, to be interpreted by activist judges at the behest of liberal trial lawyers. They want the Constitution to bend and shape to accommodate where they happen to be in a given year, in a given month, on a given day.
