OH House-92: Phillips (D) to Participate in Health Care Forum in Athens 8/5
Debbie Phillips, candidate for 92nd Ohio State House District, will participate in a forum concerning healthcare affordability and coverage hosted by Ohio Consumers for Health Coverage at the Athens Public Library from 6-8pm Tuesday, August 5th:
Recent increases in insurance costs have led businesses and public institutions to make the painful choice between providing health care or a decent wage. Phillips will fight to expand healthcare services for Southeast Ohioans through increased access to preventive care. Phillips is also dedicated to expanding access to Medicaid while enacting common sense solutions to keep spending under control.According to the Ohio Hospital Association, 4 out of 5 uninsured Ohioans are in working families.
“As I travel the district, I’ve been meeting people every day who are struggling with health care issues. From the woman who is delaying important tests until she is old enough for Medicare, to the parents who see close to half their paycheck go to cover their families, people need a change. I am committed to ensuring that we make the system work better for our seniors, our families, and the hard-working people of southeastern Ohio.”
