Phone Phun with Verizon (NOT!)
OK, kids it's September, so let's review...
Verizon after acquiring local phone companies for a couple of decades, now is trying to dump all of it's landlines in 13 states. When it did so in New England, the outfit who took over it's operations was so saddled with debt and bad infrastructure, that they went bankrupt.
Now, please take a moment to look at a section of our latest bill. What they are saying is that "Since you don't use your long distance enough, we're going to arbitrarily charge you more, anyway." Bear in mind, the deal is that we pay $6.50 a month for thirty minutes of LD time. If we don't go over that, we don't get charged...

Until NOW that is! This oughta be on John Stewart's show.
Any legal eagles wanna take this to PUCO?
