Plain Dealer Endorses Cordray. Says of DeWine: "Sad to Watch"
The Cleveland Plain Dealer, apparently feeling guilty about their empty endorsement of John Kasich this past Sunday, came out this morning and endorsed Attorney General Richard Cordray.
In their endorsement, the PD said of Cordray:
As attorney general, Cordray, 51, has emphasized consumer protection, standing up for foreclosed homeowners and for auto dealers tossed aside in the forced restructuring of General Motors and Chrysler. He's helped buy time for Northeast Ohio to solidify one its most important assets by wringing an agreement from newly merged Continental and United airlines to make no major cutbacks at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport for at least two years. He has also -- despite what his opponent's ads may suggest -- begun to improve efficiency at the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information's DNA lab, although Cordray concedes it is still not where it needs to be.
And of DeWine? The PD says it best:
especially sad to watch him grasp at straws
