Sandy O'Brien to Take On Husted in GOP Primary

Republican Sandy O'Brien, the obscure, former Ashtabula County Auditor who defeated State Treasurer Jennette Bradley in a GOP primary in 2006 while running (for Treasurer, mind you) on a social issues platform, is apparently back in the hunt for statewide office. The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting today that O'Brien is eyeing the Secretary of State race. She'll have to knock off another GOP party pick to do it, as former Ohio House Speaker Jon Husted has been preparing for that race since 2006.
Here's a 2006 video of the candidate who wants to oversee Ohio's elections (from BSB via ONN)

This woman could not oversee
an election for 5th-grade class monitor. One of my worst recurring nightmares in 2006 was that she would somehow beat Rich Cordray, when clearly her concept of what the state treasurer does was absent. I wouldn't trust her with PTA dues, let alone the state's billions. But I suspect without Kenny Blackwell's coattails to cling to and an organized fundie movement, she won't be able to make a dent in Husted's lead. But we better figure out who we are going to run, fast. Does anyone seriously think Lee Fisher will take a enormous pay cut and a dramatic narrowing of responsibilities to be Secretary of State? I find this suggestion dubious.
