UPDATE : Dispatchers Malachowski, Webb On Administrative Leave

The Canton Repository takes over today's lead story right where we left off and is reporting that North Canton Police Dispatcher Anita Malachowski and Uniontown Police Dispatcher Holli Webb are both on administrative leave pending an investigation into their use of public email accounts and/or time to distribute this email message earlier this week.

From the Repository:

North Canton Police Chief Michael Grimes and Uniontown Police Chief Jack Koontz issued separate statements saying the allegations are being investigated.

Grimes said both dispatchers have been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, which will be handled by one of the department’s investigators. E-mail accounts for the two dispatchers have been suspended.

In a statement, Grimes said the department “understands the serious and offensive nature of this matter. We are investigating the situation and deal with it appropriately.”

North Canton Mayor David J. Held said “racial stereotypes, racial slurs of any kind are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in my administration.” Held said both dispatchers will receive due process, but added: “If there is a finding, they will not be part of my administration.”
