Writer Joe LaPointe suggests that a Romney aide's comment to reporters in Poland week that they could "Kiss my ass" reflects Romney's thinking about the entire electorate.
He says,
Romney perfectly embodies the upper-caste American notion that wealthy people always know what’s best, especially when they are writing tax laws that favor themselves at the expense of the 99 per cent who get exploited and ignored.
Romney's been trying to deflect questions about his concealed tax returns by announcing that everything he's done is legal. Maybe that's so — and maybe that's the problem, especially when you have the Republican faction in Congress trying to make the laws more friendly to the wealthy and less friendly to regular working people. Maybe he's afraid people will ask "WHY is this legal?" And you know what? You can just kiss his ass.
