Women's Campaign Forum Endorses Brunner
The DC-based women's group, Women's Campaign Forum, today announced their endorsement of Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner in her run for the U.S. Senate.
Here's a brief note about the endorsement.
From WCF's website:
Women's Campaign Forum (WCF) is a non-partisan, national organization dedicated to advancing the political participation and leadership of pro-choice women. We recruit, train, launch and support pro-choice women to run for office beginning in their earliest days in politics. We also build a national network of women voters, donors and activists whose efforts and engagement help to ensure that women's voices are heard.
Although not as large and widely-known as EMILY's List, WCF has a highly talented staff and is one of the handful of top women's groups in the country. Their work in the 2008 races helped elect Mary Jo Kilroy in OH-15. It's also worth noting that just because Jennifer Brunner is a woman, that does not instantly qualify her for WCF's support. The group (along with others) are very targeted with their endorsements and levels of assistance. The fact that they are making this endorsement so soon is important and adds another layer of concrete to Brunner's foundation.
