UPDATE: Okay, sorry about the ruckus, it looks like Barack Obama is NOT scheduled to appear in person in the Cleveland area on the 14th. The notice I received is emblazoned with the words "Senator Barack Obama, Democratic Presidential Candidate, Campaign Rally," leading to my mistake. I did attempt to contact the sponsor of the event to confirm before posting, but didn't get through. 2nd UPDATE: I see that Tim noted my post and looked into the matter. He was also told that Obama isn't scheduled to appear on the 14th .... yet. By the way, I totally disagree with him that an 11th District Caucus rally for Obama with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones but without Obama himself isn't worth attending. Tubbs Jones was Clinton's national campaign co-chair, so for her to put on a rally for Obama is a big deal, and what she has to say there will be significant. I just received a notice that the next meeting of the 11th Congressional District Caucus on Monday, July 14th will feature a rally for Sen. Barack Obama, as well as statewide, county, and local candidates: Monday, July 14, 2008 The Civic & Conference Center Start: 7:00 pm
End: 9:00 pm
On Monday night (July 14th), Barack Obama will speak in Cincinnati to the 2008 National NAACP Convention. One block away, the speech will be broadcast live on Fountain Sqare over the giant jumbotron courtesy of Channel 5, 3CDC and the Visitor's and Convention Bureau. The Hamilton County Democratic Party invites supporters to pack the square and help show Cincinnati, the nation, and the world the level of support Obama has in the area. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will include speakers, live music (Firelytes Steel Drum Band) and organizing. Obama's speech begins at 8:00. Join the over 200 people who have already RSVP'd for this event by clicking here. Tell your friends, neighbors, relatives, (especially those who don't read e-mail), whoever, and help build a crowd! Food and drink (including beer & wine) is available from vendors on the square in evening.

August 10, 2008 7PM-10PM Nighttown Contact: Grace Overbeke One Night Only! A dinner-theatre event to benefit theObama forAmerica Presidential Campaign. Nobel Prize-winning playwright Harold Pinter strikes again with his recent hit "Celebration." This hilarious satire pokes fun at the group President George W. Bush fondly terms "the haves and the have-mores." New York Times Theatre Critic Ben Brantly described the play as "a lip-smacking slice of satire." Because the dinner-theatre performance will take place at one of Cleveland's premier restaurants, there's more than the humor to induce lip-smacking. Don't miss some of Cleveland's best performers, as you enjoy a delicious meal at Nighttown, a restaurant and performance venue of worldwide renown. The proceeds will benefit the Obama Victory Fund. To comply with campaign-finance law, we are separating the cost of dinner and your campaign contribution. After you have made your purchase, which covers ONLY the dinner costs, please make a generous contribution of any amount through: or bring a check payable to the "Obama Victory Fund" with you to the event. There are several packages: Package 1- Includes dessert, coffee Package 2- Includes a salad, entree Package 3- Includes, a salad, entree, dessert, coffee Remember, the purchase isn't complete until you've both bought a ticket package AND made a separate contribution to the Obama Victory Fund, either online or through personal (not corporate) check at the door!
