UPDATE: Okay, sorry about the ruckus, it looks like Barack Obama is NOT scheduled to appear in person in the Cleveland area on the 14th. The notice I received is emblazoned with the words "Senator Barack Obama, Democratic Presidential Candidate, Campaign Rally," leading to my mistake. I did attempt to contact the sponsor of the event to confirm before posting, but didn't get through.

2nd UPDATE: I see that Tim noted my post and looked into the matter. He was also told that Obama isn't scheduled to appear on the 14th .... yet. By the way, I totally disagree with him that an 11th District Caucus rally for Obama with Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones but without Obama himself isn't worth attending. Tubbs Jones was Clinton's national campaign co-chair, so for her to put on a rally for Obama is a big deal, and what she has to say there will be significant.

I just received a notice that the next meeting of the 11th Congressional District Caucus on Monday, July 14th will feature a rally for Sen. Barack Obama, as well as statewide, county, and local candidates:

On Monday night (July 14th), Barack Obama will speak in Cincinnati to the 2008 National NAACP Convention. One block away, the speech will be broadcast live on Fountain Sqare over the giant jumbotron courtesy of Channel 5, 3CDC and the Visitor's and Convention Bureau.

The Hamilton County Democratic Party invites supporters to pack the square and help show Cincinnati, the nation, and the world the level of support Obama has in the area. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will include speakers, live music (Firelytes Steel Drum Band) and organizing. Obama's speech begins at 8:00.
