Dann is Toast. No Butter or Jelly.

There won't be an announcement until the Governor actually has the report in his hands, but that's a mere formality.

Useful traits vs Character defects
The same pugnacious tenacity that has served Marc Dann in the past, is now preventing him from being able to see his duty to the citizens of Ohio, that he has sworn to serve.
Plain and simple: he should resign.
And I hope that by this time on Monday Subodh Chandra is our new AG.
But Rev. Ted's hands are tied. The AG is an independently elected official who the Gov can't fire any more than he can fire that brainless twit in the State auditor's office.
I don't need any more details. Not one more iota. We have left that point behind us. The sooner that Marc Dann is out of office, the better for everyone.
We simply cannot continue to perpetuate the insidious and pervasive culture and criminality that the GOP in Ohio STILL operates by, to this day.
What I meant
Good comment. Yes, you are right, Strickland can't fire Dann. What I meant was that I expect Strickland to ask Dann to resign. There is no legal force behind such a request, but I am assuming (perhaps foolishly) that Dann would be unable to withstand the political pressure of such a request.
Somehow, I knew this was coming...
Having observed Marc Dann's reaction when he lost our county Party's vote for endorsement, as soon as this information started to trickle out, I knew this would happen. All of the other candidates who lost were {very} "good sports," but he wasn't.
Now that this story has become a national one he simply has no hope for survival and the longer he tries to stay on, the worse it will be for our Party and our State.
It is so sad when talented leaders come to power and then prove that their personalties can't handle it and they act out sexually.
BTW, if we were to resign, what is the replacement procedure?
Good ol' Teddy
If there is a vacancy within one of the elected executive positions, then the Governor of Ohio gets to make an appointment to fill that position and the voters would get a say with an election to be held on an even number year general election for the unexpired term.
So in Dann's case, Strickland would appoint someone to fill the AG's seat until November 2008 and in Nov 2008 there would an election to finish out Dann's term.
Resign?
Dann shouldn't resign, Dann should be impeached! I think the Democrats need to bind together and disapprove of Dann reckless activities just like we forced out Matt Barrett of office. It will be the only way we can prove to the people of Ohio that this is not what the Democrats stand for. If impeachment sounds too harsh, the Democrats should at least censure Marc Dann and demand for his resignation.
